Clarifying Conventional Mortgage Lending

The Clarifying Conventional Mortgage Lending course is designed to teach the fundamentals of conventional mortgage lending by exploring what is meant by conventional mortgage lending, identifying how it came to be, how each conventional loan product works and who they are best suited for. Additionally, the course references investor guidelines and identifies the conventional mortgage lending process.

Daniel Ferris a Master Certified Mortgage Banker and in the Mortgage Banking business for 27 years Dan Ferris is currently working with Mid America Mortgage as Director of Correspondent Lending developing a new correspondent business, starting with the HARP 2.0 program as the primary target. He is also licensed to originate mortgages in Oregon and Washington. Mr. Ferris was Executive Vice President, Capital Markets/Production for NetMore America. He was responsible for all of Capital Markets, investor relations, wholesale and retail production. Prior to this position he was SVP, Western Regional Manager, Correspondent Lending for American Home Mortgage. Previously he was Vice President Correspondent Lending in the Pacific Northwest for E*Trade Financial. Previously he was Executive Vice President at Mann Financial, Inc., a cooperative net branch mortgage banking operation with offices in the West.
How it works
Each self-paced, self-study course examines a particular topic, allowing students to hone in on a focused set of learning concepts. Each course is designed with learning objectives, comprehensive course materials, learning reinforcement activities that appeal to various learning styles, real world examples, and, where appropriate, video and/or audio recordings of industry experts.
The final exam is completed online with instant grading, and you can download your industry-recognized certificate of completion after you successfully pass the course. While course completion time varies per student, it will take approximately one hour to complete most courses.
Students have 12 months from the registration date to complete the course. Upon successful completion of the course, students can download their industry-recognized certificate of completion and transcript.
