A once-in-a-lifetime Experience: Reminiscing on the industry event of the year

Share

It’s been about a week since Experience 2022 wrapped in Las Vegas, and we’re still on cloud 9. In the weeks and months leading up to the event, our team was excited, anxious, and in full planning mode. The big unknown was whether we would unexpectedly need to pivot back to meeting virtually, as was the case two years ago when the COVID-19 pandemic first hit the globe. It was such a wonderful feeling to kick the conference off in person, and be able to welcome our clients and partners after the team had put a tremendous amount of work into this event to create a truly exceptional experience for everyone.

The theme for Experience this year was “Make the Connection”

After living and working in a remote world since 2020, I saw firsthand how enthusiastic people were to network and build new relationships, accelerate their business, and reconnect in person. The excitement and genuine happiness at seeing friends and colleagues again was palpable. We had a record number of partners and customers joining us – and it was fun to see everyone enjoying themselves at the various networking events in the Exhibit Hall, at the Welcome Reception, and at our customer party at XS. Attendees were joyfully greeting colleagues, catching up on the latest technology, and reconnecting on what we’ve all been up to since we last met. The beautiful Wynn was spacious enough to let us all spread out a bit and catch our breath, while allowing us to still feel connected and get our steps in too. Stephen Dubner’s talk had us all washing our hands, and the weather was fantastic – the perfect setting for outdoor meetings.

Relive top moments from Experience 2022 with these key highlights:

  • A fireside chat with ICE Mortgage Technology President, Joe Tyrrell and ICE Chair and CEO, Jeff Sprecher:
During this one-on-one conversation, attendees got a behind-the-scenes look into the origins of ICE, and how ICE became the global leader in exchanges, fixed income & data services, and mortgage technology. Jeff shared his excitement for the future, and what innovations we can expect to see in 2022 and beyond that will help our customers improve their digital mortgage processes and grow their business.
  • A glimpse into the future of mortgage innovation with ICE Mortgage Technology’s Nancy Alley, Eric Connors, and Stephanie Durflinger:
In this forward-looking discussion, a few of our product experts spoke about the importance of not just exploring automation and eClosing solutions, but implementing these technologies to meet the expectations of today’s borrowers, save time, and achieve cost savings. With at least 75% of borrowers desiring a more automated mortgage process according to the latest Borrower Insights Survey, our experts gave practical advice on how to get started in order to stay ahead in today’s evolving market.

  • A time out with 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist and ESPN host Abby Wambach:
It’s no surprise that this session was a fan favorite. Abby shared moments from her personal life and professional career that shaped her. She described highs and lows that so many of us could relate to, like how to celebrate and accept failure, and that recognizing the accomplishments of your teammates doesn’t take away from your own – there's room for everyone to succeed. She captured the audience’s attention, and left us feeling inspired and ready to take on the world.

  • The Executive Women’s Networking Lunch:
Over lunch, our panel of inspiring women leaders, including President of the New York Stock Exchange and Chair of ICE Fixed Income & Data Services, Lynn Martin, President of Lennar Mortgage, Laura Escobar, and President of Geico, Melissa Gallaro, shared stories on how they got to where they are today. Additionally, they gave their best tips for achieving career success, work/life balance, and how to support each other through it all. This event was a full house and truly engaging for everyone who joined us.

  • ICE Mortgage Technology Gives Back:
This year, we partnered with Hero Helpers to prepare personalized care packages for children who are in the hospital, have an illness that keeps them at home, or are in a temporary living situation such as a shelter or foster home. Each care package included a plush companion, cape, and special handwritten note for each child.
